Frequency-domain synthesis of tapered slot antennas

The paper presents an approach for ultra-wideband tapered slot antennas synthesis in frequency-domain. The method exploits a combination of stepped antenna aperture approximation together with transmission lines theory. By such representation of the radiating structure, it is possible to perform an analytically based synthesis procedure by preassigned values of input reflection coefficient. The method's formulation and main attributes are given. Next, two test structures are synthesized and their electric performance is discussed.
