A velocity independent MUSIC algorithm for DOA estimation

The accuracy of DOA estimation is affected by the wave velocity, which is always difficult to be obtained accurately. This paper proposes a velocity independent MUSIC (VI-MUSIC) algorithm by using the L-shaped array to eliminate the effect of using imprecise wave velocity. This simulation results show that that the proposed algorithm can achieve more accuracy than the existing DOA methods under the conditions of using imprecise wave velocity in DOA estimation.
