An improved NLOS error elimination algorithm for indoor ultra-wideband localization

Ultra-wideband (UWB) ranging and locating technology has received significant attention due to its strong penetration and high accuracy. However, the positioning accuracy is susceptible to multipath interference and the non-line-of-sight (NLOS) transmission interference. It is important to reduce the NLOS error as much as possible to improve the positioning accuracy of UWB. This paper proposed an improved algorithm to fit the NLOS environment, based on Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) algorithm and residual weighted localization algorithm. The optimal position estimate is obtained by weighting the measured data using the polymerization degree and residual information. The experimental results show that the improved algorithm can effectively improve the positioning accuracy under the NLOS environment.
