A sine-like hysteresis current control method in application of three-phase voltage source converter

Traditional Hysteresis current control (T-HCC) method has a good transient response performance and robustness. However, when applied in the three-phase voltage source converters (VSCs) occasions, due to the interphases dependency and coupling among the three-phase currents, current harmonics and high switching frequency will arise. Considering of this, this paper presents a new sine-like HCC (SL-HCC) method which is based on the space voltage vector concept in space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM). SL-HCC sets the hysteresis band (HB) which depends on the system parameters and the HB does not need to be adjusted repeatedly by the designer. When the three-phase current tracking errors are all within the prescribed HB, the zero voltage vector is adopted; when the current errors exceed the prescribed HB, the specified switching state for each phase will be adopted. Finally, the effectiveness and advantages of the presented SL-HCC compared to T-HCC are verified by simulation and experiment tests.
