Examining the bicycle bottle cage based on universal design principle

Upon the propaganda of local authorities, cycling was popular as for casual and excise purpose in Taiwan. The request on bicycle equipment was turning to high quality, lightweight, ergonomic, and flexible based on the universal design principle. Only the bottle cage showed an exception that took only 72mm water bottle. In contrast, many cyclists preferred the mineral water in 62mm bottles that could not sit tight in the cage. Thus, this research aimed at designing a water bottle cage for both size calibers. The prototype was examined by professional designers, enthusiasm cyclists and casual cyclists under the universal design principle. Result showed the prototype met both professional and amateur needs and was an ideal, simple, stiff and lightweight water bottle cage.
