Tensor product model for a Reverse Osmosis system

This paper presents a new tensor based model for Reverse Osmosis Desalination (ROD) process. A Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) Process model of ROD with interdependent transfer functions is considered for this purpose to depict the real life operating conditions. A tensor based model of the process is derived using the Kronecker Product technique. The overall ROD process with control loops is illustrated. The proposed model is validated and Pole Placement is applied to achieve the desired system specifications and performance. This approach effectively demonstrates the advantages of tensor based modeling in controlling a naturally coupled complex system such as ROD process.
