SiO2 Glass-Cladding YAP:Ce Scintillating Fiber for Remote Radiation Dosimeter

ions was fabricated using the modified rod-in-tube method. The optical and structural properties of the as-fabricated fiber samples were investigated using refractive index, Raman, transmission loss, and photoluminescence measurements. Co gamma sources (mean quantum energy 1.25 MeV) in the dose range from 5.9 to 292.5 cGy. A good linear response as a function of dose was found, suggesting possible practical applications in remote radioactive monitoring and dosimetric systems for radiotherapy.
