The moisture characteristics from 1981 to 2010 in Longdong Loess Plateau

Based on 30 years soil moisture observation data in March to November from 1981 to 2010 in Xifeng, the monthly change and interannual variation of soil moisture storage (SMS) characteristics were analyzed. The results of vertical distribution characteristic in soil moisture storage show an obvious monthly change and the capacity was higher in Autumn than in Spring. The departures of SMS imply a serious drought period in 1990s, and the capacity appeared a fluctuation change in three different interannual variations.
