Simulations of energy-bands bending effect and carriers transportation in semiconductor with propagating Surface Acoustic Waves

Surface Acoustic Wave, also named as Rayleigh wave, is an acoustic wave traveling along material surface. It can couple with any media in contact with the surface of substrate material, and affect its mechanical and electronics properties. In this research, we use simulations to verify the propagating SAWs are able to bend the conduction band and valence band periodically on surface of semiconductor substrate. As a result, the electrons and holes in semiconductor material are spatially separated and transported by the SAWs.
