Optimum Design of ALA-SynRM for Direct Drive Electric Valve Actuator

In this paper, an approach to arrive at the optimal design variables to maximize the torque density of an axial multi-layer synchronous reluctance motor that can be used as an electric actuator is presented. . Change in the thickness of the magnetic flux barrier has the greatest effect on the magnetic flux path and its characteristics. Dependence on the presence or absence of a rotor core rib, which causes magnetic saturation, was analyzed by calculating the inductance. Results are demonstrated through the finite-element analysis simulation and an experiment.
