Discontinuous Galerkin Time-Domain Method Based on Marching-on-in-Degree Scheme

This letter develops a discontinuous Galerkin time-domain (DGTD) method based on a marching-on-in-degree (MOD) scheme. With the use of weighted Laguerre polynomials as entire-domain temporal basis functions and Galerkin temporal testing procedure, the time variable is eliminated. Based on the MOD scheme, the proposed algorithm is free from Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy limitation and promising for simulating multiscale transient electromagnetic responses and overcoming the long-time instability of uniaxial perfect matched layer in the DGTD. Numerical examples demonstrate the good performance of the proposed algorithm.
