Effective Analysis of the Propagation in Coupled Rectangular-Core Waveguides

The aim of this letter is the accurate and efficient analysis of the propagation in coupled rectangular-core waveguides. The problem is formulated as a system of surface integral equations in the spectral domain and discretized by means of Galerkin’s method with analytically Fourier transformable expansion functions reconstructing the edge behavior and continuity condition of the fields. The presented numerical results show that highly accurate results can be obtained with a low computational cost.
