Direct 2-D display of 3-D objects

there exists a growing demand to present data on a 2-D monitor screen so that a 3-D projection of the object under study can be visualized easily. A popular approach is to display the surface boundary of the object in a number of different views relative to the position of the screen and the object. The main problem of this approach is, given a view, to display the boundary of the object on the screen in a fashion that approximates taking a photograph of the object from the center of the screen.
