Research about Mobile Line-Inspection Based on GIS and GPS

The purpose of this paper is to combine the embedded GIS technology with GPS and PDA to develop a mobile line-inspection system,which can be used to inspect the lines for electric power transmission, mobile communications, petroleum and natural gas transmission,etc.The system can facilitate inspectors'work,improve inspection work more efficiency,and guarantee inspectors to examine on site.So it overcomes a good many shortcomings of the traditional line-inspection methods.
