Real time control of line contact machining CNC system based on windows

To achieve a high efficient machining for developable ruled feature surface such as conical surface, column and plane, twisted ruled surface, free curved surfacean and so on, a new method of line contact rotatory machining based on direct surface machining is proposed. And in this new method, in order to solve the problem that automatic processing is discontinuous and unstable in real-time control of full software CNC system because of the deficiency for system response time, a timing method, using the outer hardware achieving high-precision system timer, is presented in this paper by analyzing several real-time control method adopted timing interrupt based Windows platform. Moreover, Windows Driver Model (WDM) programs are compiled to respond to the high-precision timer and then hard real-time control of full software CNC system is achieved. The test is proved that timing precision attains to 20 microsecond for adoptting above timing method in the full software CNC system and the problem of real-time control of full software CNC system based PC in Windows platform is resolved properly.
