Slow wave solitons in a multicomponent magnetized inhomogenous plasma with nonisothermal electrons

Solitary waves are the waves of permanent form which arise from a certain class of nonlinear partial differential equations and preserve their shape while traveling over large distances. Solitary waves are called solitons if they emerge with their original shape and speed after having collision with other solitary waves. Propagation of ion acoustic solitary waves in plasma is governed by the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. In an inhomogeneous plasma the usual KdV equation is modified by an additional term arising due to the density inhomogeneity In a multicomponent plasma containing negative ions in addition to positive ions and electrons, the ion-acoustic wave split into two modes of propagation: a fast mode and a slow mode. The fast mode results from the out of phase motion between the positive and negative ions. The slow mode is the usual ion acoustic mode with positive ions, negative ions, and electrons all oscillating in phase. The behavior of the electrons in plasma is found to be strongly modified by the nonlinear potential of the soliton as the trapping of the electrons in the soliton potential is found to occurs. In this case the electrons in the plasma are considered to be nonisothermal and there deviation from isothermality leads to remarkable changes in the evolution and propagation characteristic of solitons in such plasma. In this paper we study the characteristic of the slow wave soliton in a magnetized inhomogeneous plasmas having negative ions in addition to positive ions and nonisothermal electrons. For this, we apply the fluid approach incorporating the effect of nonisothermality of electrons through their vortex like distribution and obtain the relevant KdV equation corresponding to slow mode using the Reductive Perturbation Technique (RPT) with the proper choice of stretched coordinates and perturbation expansions of the dependent variables. Further, we solve this KdV equation for its solitary wave solution to obtain the profile of slow wave soliton propagating obliquely to the external magnetic field. The soliton's propagation characteristics are studied under the effect of negative ions density, nonisothermality of the plasma, magnetic field strength and its obliqueness to the wave propagation direction. It is observed that in the present nonisothermal plasma only compressive solitons exist in spite of the presence of negative ions which usually support the rarefactive solitons.
