Errors in SC circuits derived from linearly modeled amplifiers and switches

By modeling amplifiers and switches with equivalent linear circuits, their influence on the signal transfer function of SC circuits is computed. The settling errors of the charge transfer occurring in an integrator are derived and applied to compute the distorted transfer function. The results are then used to estimate the deviations in integrator-based filters, in particular a biquad. The dependences of the resonance frequency and of the quality factor as a function of the normalized switch conductances and amplifier transconductances are derived. A method to optimize biquad-based SC structures starting from the pole tolerance is presented.<
