Analogy between magnetic recording media noise and shot noise

By comparing the analyses of magnetic recording media noise and shot noise, this paper shows that a very close analogy exists between the two. It demonstrates that all the well-known results for both kinds of noise are caused by random processes that have equal probabilities in equal volumes.
