Smart antennas for future reconfigurable wireless communication networks

Smart antenna technology is being considered for mobile platforms such as automobiles, cellular telephones (mobile unit), laptops, etc. This paper examines and integrates antenna array characteristics, digital signal processing algorithms (for adaptive beamforming), and the impact of these on the network throughput. The results presented here are part of a project on reconfigurable broadband (high-speed) networks.
