Monopole Elliptical Antenna with Double Triangular Slits for Ku Band Applications

In this paper, a Monopole elliptical antenna with double triangular slits (MEDTS) is designed for Ku band applications is presented. The proposed structure contains an elliptical patch with double triangular slits. Here, the elliptical ring has double triangular slits which was created to increase the gain and partial ground for bandwidth enhancement and good radiation characteristics. The total antenna volume is formulated on FR4 substrate with overall size of 21×25×1.5 mm

. The designed antenna resonates at a frequency of 12.6GHz with an impedance bandwidth of 15.75% (11.21-13.21) GHz. This structure is suitable for Ku band applications especially for fixed satellite services and broadcasting applications. Proposed antenna was simulated by using the CST Microwave studio software.
