Automated Plant Watering System with Soil Moisture Tracker

Efficient irrigation scheduling is fundamental to optimizing plant health and agricultural productivity. Traditional moisture trackers are often expensive for many farmers, prompting the development of a cost-effective soil moisture tracking system. This research presents an affordable and accurate soil moisture monitoring solution designed to be accessible to farmers. The proposed system employs a model that establishes the relationship between soil moisture levels and water tension, automatically irrigating plants when moisture content falls below a specified threshold. This ensures that plants receive water precisely when needed, enhancing resource efficiency. The proposed model also provides farmers with real-time temperature data, further aiding in agricultural management. The programming of the model is more direct and user-friendly, making it easy to implement and understand. The primary objective of this research work is to design an easy-to-use irrigation system that accurately monitors soil moisture using affordable components. The implementation of this model in both small-scale home gardens and large-scale agricultural fields is expected to enhance agricultural development and efficiency, offering a scalable solution for diverse farming needs.
