Finite Element Analysis of Six-axis Manipulator Based on Solidworks and ANSYS

A 6-DOF joint welding robot with a vertical axis series mechanism is designed and studied. SolidWorks is used to conduct three-dimensional structural modeling and analysis of the robot to make the subsequent processing, production, debugging, and assembly of the equipment have practical feasibility and usability. After the modeling and analysis are completed, the static and dynamic mechanical characteristics of the robot are analyzed according to the structural characteristics of the robot. Firstly, the torque of the robot's joint is calculated, and the analysis of the SolidWorks plug-in Motion verifies the calculation results. After the verification is completed, the model is imported into ANSYS Workbench. Transient dynamics analysis is carried out on the robot's waist, lower arm, upper arm, wrist, and hand, and simulation mechanical analysis and structural analysis are carried out on the whole robot. The stress and strain data results and change rules on each robot component are obtained through the research and analysis method combined with SolidWorks and ANSYS Workbench to ensure its structure has sufficient mechanical strength and toughness to meet the long-term motion state during actual use.
