Design and Implementation of a Circuit for Storing Voltage Waveshape Data with 6 kHz Sampling Frequency

Accurate Voltage is necessary for the seamless functioning of a power system. In order to address and minimize power related issues, it is crucial to evaluate and monitor the supply voltage carefully. Various factors can lead to faults in electric circuits, such as energy storage components, lightning strikes, arcing, unfiltered electrical equipment, and switching generators on/off. The objective of this paper is to develop an affordable circuit that can effectively monitor and store voltage waveshape data while also having the capability to detect faults automatically. This circuit can perform 120 samplings during each cycle to monitor the supply voltage, and the time interval per sampling is 0.16667 milliseconds. It is designed to record any unintentional errors in voltage automatically. The sampling data are then stored on an SD card for future analysis. We can assess the severity of the faulty events by plotting the data.
