Performance Evaluation of the Integration of Satellite and Terrestrial Networks Under UAV Interference

In the spectrum-sharing space-air-ground integrated networks (SAGINs), the system capacity can be improved by spectrum sharing. However, co-channel interference is unavoidable due to the shared spectrum, which may increase the system outage probability and bit error rate (BER). In this paper, the problem of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) interference with terrestrial users in the integration of satellite and terrestrial networks (ISTNs) is investigated. For measuring the interference performance from UAV to terrestrial users, the Quasi Deterministic Radio Channel Generator (QuaDRiGa) channel simulator is introduced to establish the link-level simulation experiment platform based on MATLAB for the ISTN. On this basis, the outage probability is derived when the satellite-terrestrial channel is modeled as Shadowed-Rician (SR) distribution and the terrestrial interference channel is modeled as Nakagami-m distribution. Furthermore, the bit error rate (BER) of the system is derived for Barrage Noise Interference (BNI) and Partial band Interference (PBI) of the UAV respectively. Finally, the simulation experiment results show that within the main lobe region of the receiving antenna, interference generated by UAVs leads to a significant increase in system outage probability and a significant decrease in BER performance.
