Dual Band Flexible Transparent Microstrip Patch Antenna Based on Metal Mesh

As an important component of wireless communication systems, antennas not only need to have the ability to transmit and receive electromagnetic waves, but also need to have some new capabilities, such as conformal ability, transparency ability, and multi frequency characteristics. This article proposes a symmetrical inverted U-shaped slot rectangular microstrip patch antenna, which uses a flexible PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) material as the substrate of the microstrip antenna, and a metal mesh as the radiation patch of the antenna, with a size of
$\mathbf{15}\mathbf{mm}\times \mathbf{15}\mathbf{mm}\times \mathbf{0.8}\mathbf{mm}$
. Using HFSS simulation software, the results show that the antenna has achieved operating frequency bands of 9.70~10.06GHz and 13.33 ~ 13.47GHz, with a maximum gain of 4.95dB and a transparency of 81%. It has good unidirectional radiation performance and bending characteristics, which improves the transparency of the antenna and can be applied in various application scenarios.
