High Gain Wideband Circularly Polarized Antenna with Parasitic Patches

This paper presents the wideband high gain antenna design of a ring-shaped microstrip patch with parasitic patches. The proposed antenna has a unique combination of ring-shaped patch with six circular and two square parasitic patches. The antenna has a wideband impedance matching bandwidth (IMBW) of 37.33% (5.08 GHz), a 3dB axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) of 10.1% (1.4GHz), and a gain of more than 2 to 3dBi in the whole band as compared with the single ring-shaped element.
