A Survey of Hierarchical Control Aspects of hybrid Microgrid

“Microgrids” are autonomous, tiny power system zones. Microgrid (MG) integration is one of the most effective methods for integrating dispersed renewable energy into the electrical system. Modern MG faces a number of technological hurdles, nevertheless, including the transition to a multi-vector energy system, rising the penetration of renewable energy, and the uncertainties brought on by the widespread adoption of renewable energy. Based on their characteristics of voltage and architecture of system, microgrids can be broadly categorised into 3 types: AC microgrids, DC microgrids, and hybrid microgrids. Using an Energy Management System (EMS), microgrids efficiently harvest energy from dispersed energy sources and utilise it (EMS). Microgrid operation can be improved from several angles by an EMS. This research provides a thorough analysis of hybrid microgrid control systems. When compared to other microgrid topologies, this method must be found to be efficient and economic. This analysis demonstrates the widespread use of primary, secondary, and tertiary control in hybrid microgrids. This article discusses the primary control strategies for local voltage control, secondary control strategies for voltage restoration, and tertiary control strategies for energy management.
