Design of High Efficiency Power Electric Converters for Fuel Cell System Applications

The purpose of this work is to investigate the performance of two power electronic converters that are connected in series in order to maintain the power output of fuel cells (FC) and regulate the voltage of the load under a variety of operating conditions and fluctuations in load. The primary device utilised is a Four Stage Interleaved Boost Converter (FSIBC), which is specially reduce voltage fluctuations in the fuel cell and ascertain the duty cycle that optimises power generation. Following that, the operation of this converter is supervised through the implementation of a MPPT approach. One potential approach to address the voltage regulation demands of the load is to implement a buck boost converter. With this step, the load voltage can be regulated and optimal power can be generated simultaneously to verify the adaptability and efficiency of this new design, MATLAB -Simulink is used to simulate both converters. Obtained results shows improved system efficiency and the robustness of the new design approach.
