Single-Polarization Hollow Core Antiresonant Fiber with Nested Cladding Tubes

A novel single-polarization hollow core anti-resonant fiber (ARF) made of six nested cladding tubes is designed. Through adopting different cladding structure along two orthogonal directions, y-polarized fundamental mode (FM) is effectively confined in the fiber core with lower transmission loss. Meanwhile, the coupling between x-polarized FM and cladding mode (CM) is enhanced near
${1}{{.55\ \mu m}}$
and results in larger loss. Then the single polarization ARF is achieved and the polarization loss ratio (PLR) reaches to 1083 at
${1}{{.55\ \mu m}}$
. In addition, this ARF has broadband single-polarization region (PLR > 100) in the range of 1.535 ∼ 1.560 μm. The designed ARF deliver excellent performance in near-infrared band and has large commercial potential.
