Modeling of Water Cycle at Catchment Scale Aided by Geographical Information Systems

Modelling the water cycle at catchment scale becomes of paramount importance for the optimal management and allocation of the resource. Both physical and data driven models dealing with water processes are fed on many land, geographical and even soil-related features marked by profound spatio-temporal variability. In this manuscript we detail the way we performed the characterization of the physical parameters required for modelling the water cycle at catchment scale based on remote and satellite information for a set of small catchments within the Ebro river basin (Spain).
