Prussian Blue Nanocube Clusters for Pulsed Laser Optoporation of Cells

Intracellular delivery of various therapeutics molecules such drugs, siRNA, and proteins plays a pivotal role in current biomedical technologies such as cell therapy and regenerative medicine. A viable alternative to current gold nanoparticle assisted photosensitized optoporation can be Prussian blue nanoparticles assisted optoporation which cost significantly less and have been proved to be highly biocompatible in nature. This article investigated on the nanosecond pulsed laser-assisted optoporation of the mammalian HeLa cell line with Prussian blue nanocube clusters (PBNCCs) acting as an interface for the conversion of the light energy into thermal energy. We studied the effect of laser fluence and PBNCCs concentration of resultant intracellular delivery efficiency and cell viability of cells.
