A New Method for Improving Time and Frequency Resolution of Passive Receiving Radar System

In the digital receiver of passive receiving radar system for radio astronomy, radar, and other fields, it is very important to improve the frequency resolution and time resolution of the observation system to obtain more precise and abundant data. This article proposes two solutions for two application scenarios. For the scene of the digital receiver in single-channel acquisition and serial transmission, this article proposes the zoom and sliding fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm, which is a new algorithm combining zoom FFT and sliding FFT. For the scene of the digital receiver with multichannel data transmission mode, this article proposes the zoom and sliding FFT with multiple data algorithm, which is a new algorithm combining polyphase filtering and sliding FFT. The simulation results of the related software and hardware simulations show that the two algorithms proposed in this article are practical and effective for improving the time and frequency resolution.
