Mechanism of interaction between pulsed electromagnetic standing waves and low-temperature plasma in low-pressure dielectric tubes

Electromagnetic standing waves exist in many natural phenomena, and the interaction between electromagnetic standing waves driven by pulse modulation and low-temperature plasma in dielectric tubes has many new and complex characteristics. Currently, multiple research groups have discovred the helical propagating plasma discharge phenomenon in dielectric tubes in pulse DC discharge experiments. This article focuses on the research of the helical discharge mechanism of low-temperature plasma in low-pressure and low oxygen dielectric tubes. A complete and self consistent plasma electromagnetic standing wave theoretical model is established to quantitatively analyze the helical streamer. Through electromagnetic simulation, the poloidally rotating electric field standing wave mode inside the non-uniform plasma in the dielectric tube is obtained, and the experimental phenomena of helical streamer discharge in different forms of dielectric tubes are explained. The above results not only have important scientific significance for exploring the interaction mechanism between electromagnetic waves and plasma, but also provide experimental and theoretical support for the application of low-temperature plasma in the synthesis of single chiral materials.
