Electromagnetic simulation and optimization of a wound resolver

This article first presents the structural design of a wound resolver, which conforms to the operating principle of resolvers. The parameters of each structural part are determined respectively. According to magnetic flux density distribution and the waveform of output electromotive force(EMF), the two pole pairs of this wound resolver was subjected to simulation analysis. The simulation results confirm the rationality of this resolver design.Then, Fourier analysis is carried out on the envelope of the output EMF waveform to calculate the total harmonic distortion. Finite element simulations were conducted on pole pair, two pole pairs and four pole pairs wound resolvers while keeping the number of stator teeth constant, and the measurement accuracy was compared and analyzed. The magnetic density simulation results demonstrate the correctness of the design of this wound resolver. The variation law of measurement accuracy of wound resolvers under different pole pairs is obtained, and provides a basis for subsequent design and optimization work.
