Enhancing Health Monitoring in Academic Institutions of Bangladesh: Assessing Annual Checkups and the Role of Digital Health System

Despite the early adoption of school-based annual health checkups in developed countries like Japan over a century ago, many developing nations, including Bangladesh, lag behind in implementing such practices. This absence hampers preventive healthcare efforts crucial for disease prevention. This research delves into the current landscape of annual health checkups in Bangladeshi academic institutions through a survey involving 94 university students. Alarmingly, $74.47 \%$ of respondents reported a lack of exposure to health checkups. This deficiency extends to families, exacerbating the prevalence of diseases like diabetes. Additionally, limited awareness of the importance of annual health screenings results in significant healthcare expenditures. To address these challenges, this study proposes the adoption of a digital health system to bolster primary healthcare delivery and facilitate costeffective health monitoring, particularly in resource-constrained settings.
