Design and research of a four-port UWB-MIMO antenna with high isolation

A four-port UWB-MIMO antenna with high isolation is designed. Based on the circular microstrip antenna unit, the ultra-wideband unit antenna is formed by introducing the defective ground structure. Four identical UWB-MIMO antennas are placed orthogonal, and a decagon decoupling structure is added in the middle of the radiating patch to form a four-port high isolation UWB-MIMO antenna. Through simulation to optimize the structural parameters, the antenna -10dB impedance bandwidth is 3.0-19.2GHz, covering the UWB communication frequency range and higher frequency range. The antenna structure is simple, the size is 63mm*63mm*1.6mm. The antenna has very low coupling (S12<−18 dB, S13<−13 dB, S14<−18 dB,), low envelope correlation coefficient (ECC<0.025), and high diversity gain (DG>9.997 dB). The UWB-MIMO antenna has good performance and can be used in UWB-MIMO communication system.
