FFT - Based Narrowband Interference Cancellation in SC-FDE Systems

This work proposes a new interference cancellation method for SC-FDE systems. When narrowband strong interference exists in the received signal, the receiver performance can degrade severely. To relieve from this problem, interference cancellation is required. The narrowband interference can be identified and removed simply with the received signal's spectrum. However, FFT -based cancellation may not perfectly clear the interference if the interference frequency is not an integer multiple of sampling frequency/FFT size. This work proposes a fine frequency shift for the received interference frequency to be an integer multiple. Employing the proposed fine frequency shift, it is confirmed through computer simulation that the receiver performance is not degraded when a strong interference exists in the received signal.
