Planar Monopole Graphene Assembled Film Based Antenna for Wi-Fi 6E Applications

A flexible planar monopole antenna based on graphene assembled film (GAF) for Wi-Fi 6E scenarios is presented. First, characteristic mode analysis (CMA) is utilized to evolve the desirable dual-band antenna with intended radiation properties. Second, the proposed antenna is designed and implemented with a high conductive GAF film on flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate, which produces favorable conformal ability for the antenna. Finally, the antenna prototype is fabricated and measured for validation. Simulation and measurement results validate the performance of the proposed GAF-based antenna. In addition, the antenna prototype is assembled on a router and it exhibits a stable wireless signal coverage in measurement, which indicates that the intrinsic high conductivity, lightweight and flexible characteristics of GAF make it a promising candidate for microwave devices.
