A Novel Digital Piezoelectric Ceramic Power Amplifier of T-Type Three-levels Topology

This study proposes a novel digital piezoelectric ceramic power amplifier with an FPGA as the main controller for driving requirements in a model damping system. The digitized piezoelectric ceramic power amplifier improves precision, stability, and flexibility, with the advantages of high integration, easy upgrade, and maintenance. We adopt a T-Type three-level inverter circuit as the main circuit topology to address the need for high switching frequency and low high-frequency harmonic content. In this study, we employ digital technology to modulate dual-carrier parallel sinusoidal pulse-width modulation (SPWM) waves and achieve closed-loop control for regulating output voltage, while addressing the midpoint balance issue based on hardware technology. Experimental results with a 30µF piezoelectric ceramic load demonstrate an input bandwidth of 5Hz to 500Hz and an output power of 1kW. The harmonic distortion of the output voltage remains below 2%, and the DC output ripple factor is less than 1%. The power amplifier achieves rapid damping and exhibits long-term stability. Therefore, this amplifier holds significant potential for piezoelectric ceramic damping systems and related fields.
