A Broadband 60G LTCC Bow-tie Antenna

A bow-tie antenna structure with broadband and high gain at the millimetrewave bands is presented. This antenna consists of a conventional patch fabricated on a thick low-temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) substrate. The proposed bow-tie antenna and arrays are low-cost in fabrication as they are simply made on a single-layer printed circuit board. Due to its low-profile structure, it is attractive to be used in an array environment. The simulated results of the proposed 2 * 6 array antenna show a bandwidth and peak antenna gain at 60 GHz of 10 GHz and 12.7 dBi, respectively. The measured results meets very well with the simulation results.
