Enhanced Switched Impedance Inverter with Tapped Inductor

Impedance-source inverters with voltage boosting capability are considered as suitable options for various applications, but limited duty cycle range is one of the challenges faced by these converters. In this article, an active impedance-source inverter using tapped inductor is presented, aiming to provide more constraints for controlling the output voltage and consequently the output power control. A comprehensive analysis of the proposed structure's performance is presented, along with a comprehensive comparison in various metrics between the proposed structure and conventional structures. Finally, simulation results in the PSCAD/EMTDC software environment are provided to validate the results and analyze the presented theory.
