Study of Parameters Impacting Transmission Energy Consumption in CCN

In this work, we study the parameters impacting transmission energy consumption in Content-Centric Networking (CCN). This paper considers various cache placement strategies, and it presents experimental results for validation. To understand the relative importance of nodes within a network, this paper presents a comparative study of three graph-related centrality metrics, namely betweenness, closeness, and degree centrality. To measure transmission energy consumption this paper relies on energy delay product and hit ratio. To validate our work, comparative analysis is presented graphically. Results show that placing larger caches at the network edge yields better results. Secondly, degree centrality, closeness centrality, and edge cache placement perform better than betweennees centrality for highly connected networks. Betweenness centrality under-performed in all the scenarios.
