English Word Stress Analysis of College Students in Tibetan Lhasa Dialect Based on Speech Analysis Platform

In this paper, we use Matlab to develop a speech analysis platform, which can realize speech signal segmentation, annotation and parameter extraction. This paper analyzes the pronunciation of word stress among college students in Tibetan Lhasa dialect area by means of phonetic experiment. The accuracy of pronunciations of two syllables, three syllables and four syllables in common words and unusual words was measured. Through the study, we found that Tibetan native speakers have a certain sense of stress, but no sense of stress transfer. In the process of learning English, there is positive transfer in the acquire of “English word stress” for the Tibetan native speaker; and on the acquisition of English word stress transfer there is negative transfer.
