Modeling Cell Cluster Growth Using the Cellular Potts Model

A network of biological cells serves as a new physical layer for future communication systems such as 6G. We examined how they form a network interconnecting themselves to communicate considering biological cell clusters. We applied the Cellular Potts model and developed a computational model to describe how cell clusters grow. The developed model helps to understand the underlying biological mechanisms of cell cluster growth. Simulation results showed that the developed model reproduced cell cluster growth behaviors observed in wet-laboratory experiments.
