Research on the Evaluation of Feeder Automation in New Distribution Networks

Feeder automation can quickly and accurately locate, isolate faults, and restore power supply to non fault areas in the event of feeder faults, which is of great significance for the safe and stable operation of distribution networks. However, due to various interference factors, feeder automation sometimes cannot play its role, so it is necessary to carry out feeder automation evaluation. This paper proposes a new evaluation method for feeder automation in distribution networks, which mainly conducts evaluation work from three dimensions: correctness, timeliness, and accuracy. On this basis, the article uses the non-failure testing method to quantify the score of feeder automation, and then compares it with the user's expected value to realize the purpose of evaluating the application effect of feeder automation. Finally, an example of feeder automation in a distribution network in a certain area of Zhejiang Province was applied, and the final results proved the effectiveness and applicability of the method proposed in this paper.
