Concept for an IoT-based Electronic System for Smart Home Automation

This article presents a conceptual model of an electronic household automation, that should provide an affordable, multifunctional and reliable solution for home management. It is developed based on a microcomputer that collects and analyzes data for and from the system, communicating with one or more IoT devices. The conceptual model includes an architecture of the system, an operation algorithm describing its logic and an activity diagram, presenting the communication sequence. The proposed home automation system is implemented as an autonomous solution that doesn’t need Internet connectivity; however, such could be provided depending of the user’s preferences. The concept is developed to simplify the work of smart devices used in the household and enable them to optimize energy expenses while ensuring the security and comfort of their owners.
