Modified Asymmetric 25-Level H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter

The multilevel inverter (MLI) is a significant application for converting direct current to alternating current. This is due to the growing demand for renewable energy sources that provide direct current. Recently, researchers have focused on reducing the cost of MLI by reducing the number of inverter components. This paper proposes a Modified Asymmetric 25-level H-bridge Multilevel Inverter (MA25-MLI) with only 9 switches and 3 voltage sources, as opposed to the 48 switches and 12 voltage sources used in conventional Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverters (CHB-MLI), which contributes to cost, weight, and loss reduction. The inverter was controlled using the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology. MATLAB Simulink was used to build and run the suggested inverter, and the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD%) of the output voltage was computed and compared to earlier studies.
