The Torque Performance Analysis of a Zero-Gearing Ratio Contra-Rotating Switched Reluctance Motor (CR-SRM)

Electric machinery is of particular importance in the prosperous era of electric vehicles. A large number of electric vehicles have been or are being developed to date, including cars, ships, and aircraft continuously worked. However, such vehicles do not often come equipped with electric axial compressing jet engines because it is challenging to design multi-rotor machines for multi-stage compressors. Conventional high power density permanent magnet machines cannot be used without considerable changes, as schematically in the in-shaft designed scheme, the high-temperature state inside an axial compressor is unsuitable for their use due to high fragility of permanent magnet (PM). Thus, a double-rotor contra-rotating SRM without a gearing ratio is proposed for the mentioned application. A model is built and put into finite element analysis. Magnetic flux and torque performance are then investigated.
