Design of Perfect Absorber based on One-Dimensional Graphene-Silica Metasurface for Infrared radiations

Graphene is one of the most widely used materials for the implementation of photonic devices due to its excellent advantage of having the ability to tune its optical and electrical properties in a wide range of wavelengths. Here, we proposed a perfect absorber based on a one-dimensional metasurface composed of a three-layer structure of graphene and aluminum oxide which shows a near-perfect absorption of about 98% at the infrared wavelength of λ = 14 μm. Moreover, the proposed perfect absorber shows 95% absorption in a wide-incident angle up to 70 degrees which is one of the best results that have been reported to the best of our knowledge. The results are based on exact simulation done by the method of finite-difference time-domain (FDTD).
