Unlocking the Power of Gamma Rays in Material Analysis. Mate-rial characterization plays a pivotal role in both industrial and medical sec-tors, relying on radiation as a fundamental tool. In this investigation, we ex-plored the characterization of various liquid solutions, each characterized by distinct densities, employing an Am-241 gamma emitter source. Our study delved into the influence of material density on both transmitted and scat-tered gamma ray intensities, while also shedding light on the impact of gam-ma ray scattering angles on scattered ray intensity. Intriguingly, our findings revealed a consistent trend: an increase in material density corresponded to a decrease in transmitted gamma ray intensity, with notable exceptions. These exceptions were attributed to the presence of covalent bonds within certain solutions, which significantly influenced radiation interactions with the material. This discovery underscores the importance of recognizing that material characterization goes beyond density considerations alone. Factors such as atomic number and chemical structure should also be factored into the equation when employing specific radiation sources for specialized material analyses.
